“The Day of Your Watchmen Has Come, the Day God Visits You”

by Martin Fryatt

I have prayed for you this day O Pinecrest, surely my streams for you will end soon.

But how quickly I am with you and see you! O small walls amid the pine-trees.

 But what do I see but your walls smothered in briars and thorns! (My tears! my tears! my tears are a stream!)

How poor and dark brown are your turrets and embrasures! Your gates are shut, and covered in knots of briers and thorns.

Not before me, for I am determined in my spirit.

 I wave both my hands with the authority of a Prince of the Realm, and both the gates quickly swing open wide and the briers and thorns are broken, snapped and ruined. They are dead and falling away.

 Oh, and quickly so, how strong your little walls look now, they are sure, firm and skilfully well built, they are undamaged, built from ancient plans.

I see you.

 I look through your gates.

What a beautiful garden preserved! The plantings, the trees, the flowers, the vines and the fruits. Watered from the fountain of my streams. How sweet is your perfume upon the breeze of the sacred Breath.

 Light and Life is your fame O little walled garden, a delight and joy. Great numbers will come from afar and declare it!

Your holy Prophet has spoken my Great and Mighty Father of all light;

“Instead of the thorn bush will grow the pine tree,

Instead of briers the myrtle will grow.

This will be for the Lord’s renown,

For an everlasting sign,

Which will not be destroyed.”

++++++++++++++++

Wonderful Jesus, my Lord, for you are full of mercy and compassion. How great are your acts; how so great is your love for us. To you alone be all eternal praise, glory and honour. Holiness is your very being.

‘Holiness unto the Lord!’
