God’s
Call to Holiness
God is moving at Pinecrest. In the weeks before Christmas recess,
repentance was a primary theme of Chapels and classes, and students,
staff, and faculty returned to Pinecrest for the Week of Prayer January
7-10 with excitement and expectation at what God had in store for the
new year.
Week of Prayer speakers included Pinecrest President Jack Picataggi,
who shared on “The Generation of the Lord,” and Dean Joanne Picataggi,
who spoke on God raising a prophetic voice at Pinecrest. Students also
came forward to share prayers, scriptures, and testimonies of what
God was revealing to them and doing in their lives.
Alumnus Robyne Dunlap spoke at the Thursday meetings, bringing a message
based on Psalm 24. She urged Pinecrest to continue yielding to God
in repentance, then to move on to God’s call to holiness. “Repentance
wipes the slate clean,” she said, “but choices establish you in holiness.
Choices—minute by minute, day by day, choosing to walk in holiness.”
Robyne noted that the students’ willingness to lay down secret
issues and hidden things in repentance had caught God’s attention. “He’s looking
to you,” she said, “to be an example in the earth, that He can point
to and say, ‘This—Pinecrest—is called to be the generation of them
that seek My face.’”
Robyne issued a challenge to “Open the Gates in 2008,” asking, “Are
you willing to take the next step to be the generation that seek His
face, that lay down your lives, that welcome and want holiness at any
cost, that throw open the gates to your heart?” Students, staff, and
faculty responded to the call with a time of prayer.
Joanne Picataggi commented, “The Lord has asked us the question, ‘Will
you host the Lord and His revival?’ Robyne came, not knowing this,
and said, ‘The Lord says He asked the question because He knew what
the answer would be.’ With all our hearts, we at Pinecrest, especially
the students, want to answer this with our lives.”
